Introducing the Rural Greens web site
Who we are: The (proposed) Rural Caucus of the Green Party of the United States advocates for rural perspectives within GPUSA, promotes the growth of the Green Party in rural areas, and supports the efforts of its members to build a sustainable society.
We are currently operating as the organizing committee for a Rural Caucus within the Green Party of the United States. The organizing process began at the 2004 National Green Party Convention; new members are joining every week. If you would like to work for a rural voice within GPUSA, please consider joining us by subscribing to our email discussion list.
Much of our discussion and organizing work is done on our email listserv. This site will augment the discussion there and serve as a hub for the group's overall web presence. Here is where we will post useful resources for our own members, as well as articles and essays that will explain our values, concerns and activities to a wider audience: to non-rural members of the Green Party, non-Green progressive rural activists and to the general public.
We welcome submissions of articles, photos and other input for our site, but strongly suggest that prospective contributors first join the listserve to get acquainted with our issues and focus. Unlike the open discussion on our listserv, material submitted for publication on the main page are reviewed by volunteer editors, and we cannot guarantee that all of them will be published. If you have any questions about, please use the email links in the main page sidebar.
